What is it About?

Staying healthy despite of being busy, and living in a fast-paced world. The lessons are in regard to eating nutritious food and the recommended ratio of fats, carbohydrates and proteins in human diet.

 

Why is it Important to Study Food & Nutrition?

For us to know the importance of our health through the study of food and its nutritients on how it will work on our body system and its contribution to our health.

 

Food

Any nourishing substance that is eaten, drunk, or otherwise taken intothe body to sustain life, provide energy, promote growth, etc.

Nutrition

The science that interprets the interaction of  nutrients and other substances in food (e.g.phytonutrients, anthocyanins, tannins, etc.) in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism. It includes food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism an excretion.

 

The diet of an organism is what it eats, which is largely determined by the availability, the processing andpalatability of foods. A healthy diet includes  preparation of food and storage methods that preserve nutrients from oxidation, heat or leaching, and that reduce risk of food-born illnesses.
